Kevin Jones

Kevin joined the company in 1988 and is a degree qualified Civil Engineer, a qualified barrister (albeit not in practice) and a Director of CRL He is responsible for all business activities on a national basis with regards the heritage and conservation division, CRL Restoration, including business development, tendering and operations. He reports directly to the Board and was part of the management buyout in 2006.
Kevin has experience in a number of market sectors including rail, large scale social housing, marine, bridges, tunnels and heritage restoration. Having spent a number of years in the contracts management division, Kevin has successfully delivered numerous complex and prestigious projects for the business.

Mark Phillips

Mark gained his building/civil engineering, and surveying degree from SELTEC College, whilst at the same time gaining experience as a Quantity Surveyor and Estimator. Mark has over 35 years of experience in the field of conservation, restoration and new build construction in a wide range of sectors. Projects worked on include high-end residential property refurbishments, historically sensitive building restoration and general maintenance throughout London and the Home Counties.
Mark has a keen attention to detail to ensure all aspects of a project, from estimating to the completion of the works, are carried out to the highest standards.

Ben Lawson

Ben joined CRL for 20 years ago after a brief early career working in heavy civil engineering in Hong Kong.
Ben has successfully completed multi-disciplinary projects up to the value of £5M.  He has particular expertise in the conservation, restoration and cathodic protection of historic buildings. and says he enjoys the challenges presented by complex sites in Central London.  Ben has a calm demeanor, and an inclusive approach to contracts management that revolves around good communication and forming excellent relationships with Clients and the supply chain.
Ben has been heavily involved with the launch of CRL Restoration as a dynamic specialist Principal Contractor in the Heritage Sector, and led the teams who carried out the successful projects at Osborne and Reading Abbey.

Michael Balletta

Michael qualified as a Civil Engineer and after working on large civil projects decided to specialise in the fields of Concrete Technology & Structural Rehabilitation. He has been involved with the inspection, repair and strengthening of concrete buildings and structures for the last 35 years, both in the UK and internationally.
Recently Michael moved into the heritage sector and now deals with the conservation and restoration of heritage buildings and structures.
Michael is currently completing a Diploma in Heritage Restoration through West Dean College in Chichester, with a particular interest in Hot-mixed Lime Mortars, and is a member of the 20th Century Society and the British Lime Federation.

Geoff Bysouth

In a career spanning forty years, Geoff has gained extensive experience of managing conservation, restoration and refurbishment projects and has worked on many of the nation’s most important historic buildings.
Geoff begun his career as an apprentice stonemason, following four previous generations into the family business. He developed skills in draughting, estimating and contracts management, working on a mixture of new-build and heritage projects as both sub-contractor and principal contractor.
In 2004 he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Building Conservation and continues to be keen to develop his knowledge of the built environment, particularly with regard to the coupling of modern techniques with traditional skills.
